Set a place
Two rooms, one kitchen, a short menu that changes with what the boats bring in.

Chapter II · The room
Come in
The room is small on purpose. Every table sees the pass, and every plate leaves through one light.
Twenty-four seats. Two rooms. One kitchen.

First, bread
Cultured butter, sea salt from the jetty, sourdough pulled at four.

Then, the plate
Whole grilled fish, brown butter, lemon from the tree by the back door.

Underfoot since 1974
The room was a chandlery before it was a kitchen. The compass stayed.
“The kind of restaurant you drive an hour for and stay three.”
Coastal Review

We booked for six and stayed until the chairs went up. Nobody hurried us once.
Guest · Saturday sitting
The fish had been in the water that morning. You can taste the difference between here and everywhere else.
Guest · Thursday sitting
Twenty-four seats and every one of them sees the kitchen. That is the whole trick.
Guest · Sunday sitting

What we wrote down
Brown butter, and the occasional argument about brown butter.
What came off the boats, what went on the board, and every entry the kitchen writes between sittings. It lands here as it is finished.
